- See the Resiliency and Strength of the American People Through the Eyes of a Veteran -
My name is Craig Anderson. I will travel America interviewing people and photographing their lives, their towns and accentuating why they help make America great even in the toughest economic times. This will be from my perspective as a veteran. An important aspect because I made a decision to defend a way of life I believe to be the best in the world. So, there must be something very special about Americans and where we live. I will compile these photographs and stories in a book.

THE PROJECT: Finding Americais the title of the book. It will be a large format book of high quality photographs intermixed with feature articles to be publishing in 2015. This will be a pictorial story of you. Your jobs, passions, hobbies, your environment. The core elements of America that make it a great place to live. The real reason why soldiers, marines, airmen, sailors and coast guardsmen put on a uniform everyday.

MY GOAL: My goal is that this book can be viewed by any person from any culture around the world and the pictures can tell the true story of who we really are as a nation - getting past the Hollywood persona and political hype that seems to define us. We are a melting pot, a great nation. People still come from all over the world to live and work. There is a reason why. I want to show why.

THE KICKER: But here’s the thing …. I will be doing all of this with my family in tow. A 10 year old boy, a eight year old princess, a wife with a shoe fetish, and her yorkie, Brutis. This will be a fun and educational experience for everyone. And I make that statement without an ounce of sarcasm. It will be an experience I want to share on our website and blog.

WEBSITE: While we are on this journey to Find America I am sure I will come across many great people and stories that I would love to share with you as it happens. I will document our experiences on this website and posting behind the scenes photos, videos and anything that didn't make the cut for the book all on the road. The website will be as interactive and multidimensional as possible. You can track our journey on our map and learn about the people and places as we do. You can watch slideshows while listening to audio interviews and watch video interviews. You will also be able to follow our blog (The Journal), email questions and even suggest story ideas and people and places to photograph. To support the publishing of this book we will soon make available to purchase the high resolution photographs.
We hope to hear from you on our journey. Thank you!
"Follow our family on our journey through the towns and villages that make up the majority of America. Every stop will be a "pin" on our map. See where we are each day and get to know the people and the towns with us." -Craig Anderson
